Release report — v1.9

Initiative: Ship one clear PMF report with minimal friction, align product and copy, execute phased GTM with full documentation.

Summary

v1.9 delivers a single evidence-backed PMF report by default, sign-in and copy alignment (5 free analyses/month), optional discovery page cap, and a full doc set plus distribution plan and social assets. Every scope, decision, and task is documented and auditable via checklist and changelog.


What shipped

Product

  • One report by default: nav and content group Report 2 (Benchmarks) and Report 3 (Strategic Plan) under a single "Deeper insights" section; nav shows six items (Summary, Distribution, Product, Enrichment, Evidence, Deeper insights).
  • Copy aligned with sign-in required: homepage and v1.8 social/blog updated to "Sign in to run your first analysis. 5 free per month." Removed "No signup required."
  • Free tier consistency: 5 analyses/month documented and used everywhere (landing, v1.8 publishing guide, launch article, Reddit, blog).
  • Discovery: optional MAX_PAGES env support in lib/discovery.ts (e.g. 5 for MVP).
  • Decisions logged in decisions.md (auth B, free 5, default report option 1, enrichment doc-only, MAX_PAGES optional, version bump at release).

Distribution

  • Distribution plan and copy/asset section in distribution-plan.md.
  • v1.9 social docs created: publishing guide, launch article, X posts, Reddit (r/SaaS, r/startups, r/Entrepreneur), LinkedIn, launch thread.

Docs

  • v1.9 doc set created: README, product-plan, distribution-plan, decisions, changelog, checklist.
  • README.md updated with v1.9 link under Project Status.
